Kerrie's Missions #12

Where's The Beef?

The story so far . . .

The North's population is suffering from iron deficiencies as a result af the poor wartime diet. To counter this problem, they are importing beef from a neutral country, which is friendly to us. They are also importing aircraft parts to maintain their fighter aircraft, which are suffering badly from poor servicing in recent weeks. Ships carrying both the above cargos are in shelter together at the moment, and we must sink those ships carrying the aircraft parts.

Briefing

There are 2 versions of this one; 'Beef', and 'Beef_lt'. 'Beef_lt' has less enemy aircraft, otherwise they're the same.

Launch immediately and accompany Hornets 2 & 3 to waypoint 1. Your wingmen are tasked to neutralise any ground/air threats en route and to provide air cover, but be ready to help them with any SAM's near the targets. Watch out for Flankers which are likely to be on patrol, and gunboats may also be in shelter close to the freighters.

Identify the shipping anchored in the bay, and sink those freighters identified as hostile (check IFF), which are carrying the aircraft parts. You must not hit the neutral ships carrying beef - our fight is not with the civilians and we want to restore them to health.

Three Tomcats are flying CAP inland towards Maeng San.

Fog is shrouding the entire Korean peninsula, but there is at least 1 mile visibility, so you should have no difficulty targetting the ships. Take a couple of 84's for maximum damage, and don't forget to give yourself plenty of air when they go off - 1,500' is the bare minimum if you don't want a few holes in your own ship!

Recover on the Enterprise, waypoint 4.

Loadout

AIM-9M x 2
AIM-120 x 2
AGM-88 x 2
Mk-84 x 2
EXT FUEL x 1

Victory conditions

1. The destruction of all hostile freighters.
2. The survival of all friendly freighters.
